The aviation English classes are offered during normal university calendar dates

All of our aviation-English classes are staffed with professional instructors with Masters Degrees. Our instructors work with Embry-Riddle pilots and air traffic controllers to guarantee aviation content-based language. This provides for a true aviation and communicative language-learning experience.

RECURRING AVIATION ENGLISH CLASSES

English for Aviation 003: Offered as an elective to fulltime ERLI students who are interested in increasing their general knowledge of aviation-related topics while focusing on improving their English skills. This elective class is taken in place of the general English elective that is offered to fulltime ERLI students who are enrolled in our basic English curriculum for academic purposes. Aviation English instructors have an aviation background.

English for Aviation 005: This course is designed primarily for international students majoring in Aeronautical Science at ERAU, or for university students who are interested in increasing their knowledge of aviation-related topics while focusing on improving their English skills. Class content includes a wide range of subjects such a basic aerodynamics, flight controls, airplane engines, aircraft instruments, airports, airspace, flight planning, and radio communication. Emphasis is placed on improving Aviation English communication skills needed to fly in controlled and uncontrolled airspace and to improve listening skills. This class will help to reduce training time by preparing students for the specific language of flight.
