How does the application process work?

Download and complete the four application documents on the application page. These include:

The one-page application

The two financial documents:

The Affidavit of Support
International Student Financial Statement

The medical form: this includes your vaccination records.

One note: Attach a statement from your bank to the Affidavit of Support showing that you have enough money to study in the United States. The U.S. embassy usually requires that you have at least $9,000 in your or your parents' bank account.

Second note: If you have a scholarship from your government, you don't need to send the Affidavit of Support and bank statement. Just ask your embasy to fax a Financial Guarantee Letter to us stating that they are sponsoring you.

After we receive all your application materials and deposit, we will send you an I-20. You need to take the I-20 and acceptance letter to a U.S. embassy or consulate to get a student visa (an F-1) which allows you to enter the United States. We will express mail you the I-20 as soon as possible, but sometimes it can take 2 weeks or more if there are problems. So send us your application materials as early as you can. How do I make an ERNIE account?

You can make an ERNIE account online after you have your student identification number.

Here is how to do it:

Go to Embry-Riddle's website.
Click on the link for ERNIE at the top of the page.
On the right side click on the Setup your account link.
From this point you can type in you name, birthdate (without spaces, -, or / ) and enter your student ID #. After that, just follow the directions on the screen. If you have any problems with this, you can contact IT support at 1-386-226-6990. or email us.

One note: Your password must be at least 8 characters (numbers/letters) long, have at least one number in it, and begin with a capital letter.

For example: Englishstudent2009

After you successfully sets up your account, you should write down the username that appears on the final screen and also write down your password. Your username is usually the last 5-6 letters of your family name plus your first initial.

Once you have setup his ERNIE account, you can apply online to get a dormitory room.

Accommodation

You should know: If you want to live in a university dormitory room, you must sign a contract for two semesters. This means you will have to live in the dormitory for both the Fall and Spring semesters. You also will have at least one roommate and will probably share a bathroom with at least three other students.You will also need to buy a Meal Plan if you live in a dormitory.

The University Housing ($2,550) per semester. You should apply to get a dormitory room as early as possible because there are a limited number of rooms available. Click Apply to Housing to get directions on how to apply online.

Applying To Housing At Embry- Riddle

You can apply to housing online. However, you must send us your completed application and financial documents first. After we receive these documents, we will get a student identification number for you. You will need to use this number to create a computer account on the university's network. This account is called an ERNIE account. You will need to have this ERNIE account to apply for university housing online.
